General

What is Nvono?
Nvono is an e-invoicing and tax compliance platform built for Nigerian businesses. It helps you create, manage, and submit invoices to the FIRS MBS (Merchant Buyer Solution) system. We are a FIRS-accredited Access Point Provider (APP) and System Integrator (SI).
Who should use Nvono?
Any Nigerian business that needs to issue e-invoices or comply with FIRS e-invoicing requirements. This includes sole traders, SMEs, and large enterprises across all industries.
Do I need technical knowledge to use Nvono?
Not at all. Our web interface is designed to be intuitive. You can create and submit invoices with just a few clicks. For businesses that want to automate, we also offer a REST API.

FIRS Compliance

What is the FIRS MBS system?
The Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS) is the FIRS e-invoicing system that requires businesses to submit electronic invoices for tax compliance. It assigns an Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and QR code to each valid invoice.
How does Nvono submit invoices to FIRS?
When you finalize an invoice, Nvono generates the required UBL 2.1 XML document, validates it against FIRS rules, signs it, and submits it to the MBS system. You receive the IRN and QR code back automatically.
What document types does Nvono support?
We support invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and bills. Each follows the correct FIRS UBL 2.1 schema. Transaction types include B2B (Business-to-Business), B2G (Business-to-Government), and B2C (Business-to-Consumer).
Do I need my own FIRS API credentials?
You can configure your own FIRS credentials in the dashboard settings, or use Nvono's platform credentials as an accredited Access Point Provider. Your credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.

Pricing & Billing

Is there a free plan?
Yes! Our free plan lets you get started at no cost. You can upgrade to a paid plan at any time as your needs grow.
How does billing work?
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly. Yearly billing gives you a 20% discount. Payments are processed securely through Flutterwave.
Can I switch plans?
You can upgrade your plan at any time. To switch to a lower plan, cancel your current subscription first and then subscribe to the new plan.
What happens if I exceed my document limit?
You'll receive a notification when you're approaching your limit. Once exceeded, you'll need to upgrade to continue creating new documents for that billing period.

Technical

Does Nvono have an API?
Yes. Our REST API lets you integrate Nvono with your ERP, accounting, or POS system. Generate API keys with granular scopes from your dashboard. Full Swagger documentation is available.
Can I upload invoices in bulk?
Yes. Upload CSV or Excel files with hundreds of invoices at once. Our system validates each row, creates the documents, and optionally submits them to FIRS in batch.
How is my data secured?
We use AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive credentials, JWT authentication with refresh tokens, rate limiting, and complete tenant isolation. Your data is stored on secure, managed infrastructure.
What browsers are supported?
Nvono works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The interface is fully responsive for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
